The double jointing plant utilizes a Five Station Double-Jointing System to join two 40 feet sections of pipe into one 80 feet section. For diameters of 12 inches to 60 inches, the Multi station Internal & External Submerged ARC Welding process is used utilizing the new NA-35 Lincoln Welding System with DC 1500 Rectifier.
Double jointing is a cost effective process. It contributes not only to a substantial transportation saving but also reduces the number of field welds by one-half. In AQPCI the equipment used to perform the double jointing process in custom made and is technically the most advanced to date.
